The Rose Garden at Encanto has been maintained by the Phoenix Rose Society and Volunteers for many years. In the last year a group has been formed called the Dead Headers – and they come to the garden on the first Saturday of the month (excluding July, August & September – too HOT) to take off the spent blooms and refresh the garden beds. The Phoenix Rose Society owes a huge debt to Joyce Grossman – the head cheerleader and idea woman – for this group. They have made the work in the garden more manageable and a pleasure.
